Applied Computer Graphics – This course begins with the basic theory of computational graphics, examines important applications, especially in the fields of medicine and GIS, and requires students to complete a substantial applied project using graphical tools and packages that are widely used in industry and the computer graphics community. The basic theory will build on mathematical foundation and focus on geometric primitives, color models, coordinate systems, transformation of object views in 2D and 3D, projection, illumination, reflection, shading and more.
Cheng Professorship in Computer Science
*Applicants to computer science must have an undergraduate degree in computer science, or course work in computer science including the content of COSC 1337, COSC 2315 and COSC 2336 or equivalent to be eligible for admission.
A student who is enrolled in another graduate program of the Institute may pursue an MSCS while that student is also pursuing his or her degree in the other major. To be granted permission to pursue the MSCS, a student must submit to the MS program coordinator of the College of Computing the material required for admission to the MSCS program. This includes transcripts, letters of recommendation, and GRE General Test. If the student is approved by the College to pursue the MSCS, the student will be notified in writing. At no time will a student outside the College be allowed to pursue a concurrent degree without prior permission of the MS program coordinator of the College of Computing.
Siebel Chair in Computer Science
The thesis may not be a digest of known results from the literature, a summary of a published report, company classified or government classified material, or dependent for its background on other non-available reports. The thesis topic should be chosen by mutual agreement between the student and a member of the faculty. The thesis must be approved by the student's thesis committee. The committee consists of the thesis supervisor and two other faculty members who are appointed by the Graduate Committee in consultation with the thesis supervisor. The advisor and members of the thesis committee must be members of the Graduate Faculty in Computer Science.
Students may also take courses of special interest to them at Princeton University (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Philosophy), in accordance with a cooperative arrangement between Rutgers and Princeton (see section ).
